Elsässer Schnitzel

Alsatian Schnitzel 🥩🍽️

👩🏼‍🍳 Ingredients:

• 600 g pork loin or pork tenderloin (turkey or chicken works too), sliced

• 120 g sour cream or crème fraîche

• 120 g raw diced ham

• 1 medium onion

• 40 g grated cheese (reduced-fat optional)

• 2 tsp oil

• Salt and pepper

• Nutmeg

👩🏼‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Season the schnitzels and briefly fry them in oil.

2. Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F) top/bottom heat.

3. Place the meat in an ovenproof dish and spread with sour cream (or crème fraîche for a creamier version).

4. Slice the onion into rings and spread over the schnitzels along with the diced ham.

5. Sprinkle with grated cheese.

6. Bake for about 10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and golden.

Serving suggestion: This dish pairs well with oven-baked potatoes (since the oven is already in use) or pasta with a creamy sauce.
